Donation-Based Yin Classes for Child Rescue El Shaddai

Logo RYS

At Raj Yoga School, part of our Karma Yoga commitment is to support organisations that are creating real and lasting change. One of the initiatives close to our heart is our collaboration with Yin yoga teacher Ute Neumaier and El Shaddai Child Rescue in Goa.

El Shaddai Children’s Home in Assagao is a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting and supporting vulnerable children – particularly those affected by poverty, neglect, or unsafe living conditions. Their work focuses on providing a safe environment, access to education, daily care, and emotional support, helping children build a more stable and hopeful future.

Their mission goes beyond immediate care. By offering shelter, education, and long-term guidance, they aim to break cycles of vulnerability and create the conditions for the children to grow up with safety, care and new opportunities.

Our Contribution – Yoga, Presence, and Connection

Ute Neumaier offers donation-based Yin Yoga classes at Raj Yoga School, with all proceeds going directly to El Shaddai Child Rescue, fully supporting the wellbeing of the children.

Beyond this, her contribution extends into time, presence, and shared experience. She spends meaningful time with the children, connecting with them and creating moments of joy together – whether through simple, genuine presence, sharing dance such as the chacarera, or introducing them to yoga asana practice. In doing so, she helps create a space where they can simply be children.

These exchanges, though seemingly simple, carry deep meaning. They reflect the essence of Karma Yoga: offering without expectation, contributing from the heart, and, in return, receiving a profound sense of joy.

Teaching the girls was lively and full of giggles – a joyful twist from our casual calm yin sessions. Even Shavasana was a giggle-fest. – Ute

El Shaddai

Yin Yoga for a Cause – What is Yin Yoga?

It offers space to:

  • Slow down and release tension
  • Support the nervous system
  • Cultivate stillness and awareness
  • Balance more active (yang) practices

In this context, Yin Yoga becomes not only a practice for personal wellbeing, but also a way to contribute to something beyond yourself.

“The smiles, the dances and the hugs with these girls were heartwarming. Let’s keep up the good work, changing the world – one yoga pose at a time.” – Ute
