10 Reasons Why You Should Go for Teacher Training
Enrolling in a Yoga Teacher Training program is more than just a step toward becoming an instructor. It’s a life-changing journey of self-discovery and growth. From deepening your practice and understanding yogic philosophy to building confidence, learning anatomy, and developing teaching skills, the experience nurtures both body and mind. It also connects you with a like-minded community, opens career opportunities, and cultivates discipline, mindfulness, and balance, making it one of the most rewarding investments in yourself.
1. Become a better version of you. It’s good to be a lifelong student. Never stop asking why and how; new ideas can challenge and enhance the way we see the world. We all need a little inspiration and help along the way. Yogic techniques enhance your physical, emotional, and mental states to benefit the world ultimately.
2. Know your Bones. Understanding what’s underneath the skin, your bones, joints, and muscles and how they move us can put a new lens on your Yoga practice. The more detailed your understanding, the more detailed your adjustments and awareness of a posture can be. You can make those fine distinctions in movements, postures, and overall intentions of a Yoga practice. At Raj Yoga School, postures are directed by a functional approach. This means our instructors have a detailed understanding of anatomy and movement, allowing them to accommodate different bodies into poses that feel effective and safe.
Review from our students
I just finished my 200-hour teacher training with Raj School, and I am happy, satisfied, and full of energy. Raj is a fantastic teacher. He teaches from the heart, and even if he teaches asanas, he passes all his spirituality. The Philosophy and meditation lessons with Bharat are a source of inspiration and growth. The food was excellent and in perfect Ayurvedic tradition. I will definitely return to complete the 300 hours. Thank you, my friends. Namaste – Marta Garbarino
3. Commit to a consistent practice. You may already notice a clear difference in the way your body feels, as well as your mental and emotional perspective, on days when you practice Yoga compared to those when you don’t. Yoga makes you feel better; the most challenging part is getting to your mat.
4. Teacher Training classes offer a more in-depth level of study than regular classes for the general public. Some teacher trainees don’t intend to teach, but instead want to gain more experience. According to the ancient mystics, Yoga goes beyond poses. Explore the underlying philosophy, energy body, and breathing practices that can transform your perspective.
5. Form better habits gradually through consistent practice. As you commit to taking care of your body, mind, and spirit, you undergo the process of personal growth. As habits change to affect your body and emotions positively, you naturally develop a stronger resolve to make other beneficial changes in your everyday life. Behaviourists discuss the power of behaviour replacement. Bad habits lose their power as you gradually prefer to spend your time on more beneficial activities.
Review by Mor Ashash
I completed the 100-hour training in September and plan to complete the teacher certification early next year. This is more than just a class, and it’s in many ways life-changing. It goes beyond the physical exercise aspect of Yoga, covering pranayama, healthy eating habits and lifestyle, meditation, Yoga anatomy, and philosophy. The benefits I’ve experienced in my daily life since taking the class are worth 100 times what I paid.
6. Learn to Breathe. Remarkably, children in our advanced society study so many subjects in great depth, but our bodies and the ways we can breathe are not often a topic of study. Did you know that the way you breathe can affect your mental and emotional states, make you feel calm, or even induce a panic attack? You are that powerful. Practising breathing techniques can make a massive difference in the way we experience the world.
7. Make new friends. As habits change, it is essential to have a support network. A Spiritual community is there to uplift one another. The study of yogic philosophy often cultivates the understanding and space to respect and love people for who they are, despite differences in belief systems. You do you, and I’ll do me, but we can still support and love one another.
8. Yin Yoga is becoming increasingly popular due to excellent teachers sharing the Yin experience. The power of the Yin practice lies in the art of letting go; it can be a fundamentally different approach to asana practice. Yin Yoga is taught from a functional perspective: it’s about how a pose feels, rather than adhering to the idea of how we think a pose should look. You Do Yoga’s Taoist Yoga Teacher Training is the only Yin Yoga program in the area, with a lineage rooted in the Teachings of Paul Grilley and Paulie Zink, the founders of Yin Warriors.
9. Commit to sit. Want to take your practice deeper? It’s really not about perfecting a pose or doing more challenging postures. Taking Yoga deeper means sitting still and moving increasingly towards internal awareness. If you’ve ever tried meditation, even once, then you’re familiar with the challenges it presents. Teacher training is a commitment to sit with the support of others, and it’s excellent to dialogue about experiences to see what our meditation practices have in common. You may be just as weird as everyone else.
10. Share what you love. Experiencing the physical, emotional and mental benefits of Yoga can be life-changing. Yoga has been around for thousands of years due to its profound power. When you find something that works, that makes you happier, and connects you to something greater than yourself, you share it! Many teacher trainees continue their studies with the intention of sharing their practice with others.
