About 200-hour Yoga teacher training course
Our 200-hour Yoga TTC is a one-of-a-kind program that interweaves ancient wisdom with modern-day, life-changing, real-world applications. This makes the teachings authentic and accessible to students. Our focus extends beyond asana to include spirituality and philosophy.
Since the yoga classes offered at Raj Yoga School are a mix of faster-paced vinyasa and more traditional, slower Hatha and alignment yoga, 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training students have the rare opportunity to learn the foundations of many yoga styles. This helps students to build a broad foundation of understanding and enables them to find their own individual teaching paths.
Many of our TT graduates teach and contribute to our wonderful community. And some students do not continue teaching yoga after the program, but still benefit from the wisdom they learned in different ways.

What You Will Learn in Our 200 Hour Yoga TTC (syllabus)

Techniques, training and practice
By the end of this module, you will have a solid foundation in yoga history and philosophy, along with a practical understanding of essential yogic techniques. You will learn the theory and safe practice of joint cleansing sequences, yogic micro exercises, and Sun Salutation, as well as how to perform asana sequences that include standing, seated, backbending, supine, balancing, and inverted postures. You will also develop the skills to practice yogic preparatory movements that support deeper asana work, and understand how to apply dynamic adjustments for safe alignment. Most importantly, you will learn how to integrate transformational yoga into your daily life to support personal growth, balance, and well-being.
Yoga philosophy, life style ethics
This module covers topics study of yoga philosophies and traditional texts focusing on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Hatha Yoga Pradipika & Bhagavad Gita. Yoga lifestyles, such as the precept of non-violence (ahimsa), and the concepts of dharma and karma will also be contemplated. This module also covers understanding the value of teaching yoga as a service and serving others through yoga (seva).
Practicum
This module immerses you in supervised teaching practice, classroom observation, hands-on assistance, and both giving and receiving feedback. You will have the opportunity to support qualified teachers in live sessions while refining your own voice, confidence, and teaching presence. For full members, this module also offers continued professional mentoring and supervision under an experienced senior teacher. The focus is strongly experiential, ensuring you learn through real class dynamics rather than theory alone. By the end of the module, you will be able to confidently conduct a 60/75/90-minute yoga class as the lead teacher, observe and assist during sessions led by others, and exchange constructive feedback to support mutual growth.
Body anatomy
This module covers the study of the anatomy and functional physiology of bodily systems. The objective is to understand the body systems, translate this knowledge into a yogic context, and apply it to yoga practices, including benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc.
Yoga physiology
This Module covers the detailed study of Yoga physiology, including the Para and Apara dimensions of consciousness, the seven chakra systems, the five prana bodies and their relation to the chakra system, the prana body’s energy flow system, and the nadi system and energy mechanics of Transformational Yoga.
Teaching methodology
This module focuses on the study and practice of essential teaching methodologies, including clear demonstration, mindful observation, effective communication, assistance, correction, adjustments, and instruction. You will gain knowledge and experience in various yoga teaching styles, with the confidence to design, structure, and lead a complete class. Key teaching elements such as cueing, theming, timing, class flow, language, posture modifications, verbal adjustments, sequencing fundamentals, and classroom management are explored in depth. You will also learn the importance of personal hygiene and appropriate attire as a yoga professional, ensuring safety, comfort, and professionalism while teaching.
Ayurveda
As part of the 200-hour Yoga TTC, you will receive a gentle yet insightful introduction to Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of healing and lifestyle. This module explores the basic principles of doshas, body constitution, daily routines, and the connection between food, mind, and wellbeing.
